KDKA-TV Evening Forecast (4/5)

LAURA DITKA WAS 55 YEARS OLD. ALL RIGHT.

THE WEEKEND IS BASICALLY HERE NOW, A LOT OF SUNSHINE, WARM TEMPERATURES, GREAT TIME. WE HAVE A BURNING QUESTION. STACY AND I WANT TO KNOW IS THIS THE WEEKEND THAT WE ARE OKAY AND IT'S SAFE, WE PUT AWAY THE WINTER COATS AND THEY AREN'T COMING BACK OUT? THEY'RE GOING INTO STORAGE. WELL, YOU'LL STILL NEED JACKETS, BUT MY WINTER COAT HAS GOTTEN DEEPER INTO THE CLOSET. INTO THE BACK. JUST LIKE MY SNOWBLOWER IS IN THE BACK OF MY GARAGE. THERE'S ACTUALLY STUFF ON TOP OF IT. SO IT'S BECOME STORAGE. OKAY.

WE GO WITH THAT, THEN. IT'S A STEP IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION AND WE HAVE A GREAT JUMP IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION AS WE GET INTO THE SECOND HALF OF THE WEEKEND WHERE WE SEE 70s. YOUR WINTER COATS WILL START COLLECTING DUST THEN, TOO.

YOU GET THE VERY LIGHT RAIN PUSHING INTO PITTSBURGH AND IT'S JUST TOUCHING TOWN. YOU CAN SEE IT GOING FROM PENN HILLS DOWN TO PARKWAY INTO DOWNTOWN PITTSBURGH. WE'VE SEEN A LITTLE LIGHT RAIN. THIS WON'T LAST TOO TERRIBLY LONG. OFF TO THE EAST A BIT YOU CAN SEE A STEADIER BAND OF RAIN FROM SOUTH BEND BASICALLY GOING RIGHT INTO INDIANA COUNTY AND AS YOU GO UP INTO THE RIDGES IT BECOMES A LITTLE MORE STEADY. OVERALL THE RAIN WILL BE LIGHT, QUICK AND IT'S GETTING OUT OF HERE. WE'LL ACTUALLY SEE A DRYING TREND. WITH THIS BOUNDARY DRAPED OVERHEAD YOU CAN SEE OUR TEMPERATURES IN THE MID-50s FROM WAYNESBURG TO LOW 50s IN WASHINGTON AND PITTSBURGH. THEN YOU GO A FEW MILES OFF TO THE EAST AND THESE TEMPERATURES ARE DOWN INTO THE MID-40s, SO ABOUT A 5 TO 10-DEGREE JUMP IN MANY CASES HERE IN A SHORT SPAN OF TIME. THAT LITTLE DIFFERENCE IS ENOUGH TO HELP STIR UP SOME OF THOSE LIGHT SHOWERS. YOU CAN SEE SOME OF THE SPRINKLES IN THE LIGHTS AT PNC PARK. WE'LL SEE THIS AGAIN COMING TO AN END. IT DOES NOT EXTEND TO THE AIRPORT WHERE WE HAVE CLOUDY SKIES REPORTED NOW, 51 DEGREES CURRENT TEMPERATURES, WINDS SOUTHEAST AT 10 MILES AN HOUR. THE WINDS WILL DIE DOWN AND STAY CALM INTO THE WEEKEND. SHOWERS ARE ON THE EXIT RIGHT NOW AND THEN GOING INTO THE START OF THE WEEKEND, TOMORROW MORNING THE CLOUDS WILL BE HANGING AROUND. THEY'LL BE A LITTLE STUBBORN, BUT I THINK HIGH PRESSURE TAKES CARE OF THOSE INTO THE AFTERNOON. WE SEE SOME MUCH WARMER TEMPERATURES ON THE WAY.

THESE SHOWERS ARE GETTING OUT OF HERE AND HIGH PRESSURE WILL START BUILDING IN.

HERE'S THAT STATIONARY FRONT TRYING TO DIE OUT AND WILL CONTINUE TO DO SO. BY THE TIME WE GET UP TOMORROW MORNING WE HAVE MOSTLY CLOUDY SKIES AROUND PITTSBURGH. YOU CAN SEE HIGH PRESSURE TRYING TO NUDGE IN ON THE LEFT SIDE OF YOUR SCREEN. THIS WILL START TO CHIP AWAY AT THE CLOUDS INTO THE AFTERNOON AND EVENING. WE'LL SEE PARTLY CLOUDY SKIES TAKING OVER. THAT HIGH PRESSURE CLEARS US OUT FOR A BIT EARLY, EARLY SUNDAY MORNING AND THEN THROUGH THE DAY SUNDAY MOISTURE COMES BACK. CLOUDS COME BACK LATE IN THE DAY, A SHOWER OR THUNDERSTORM COMES BACK. THESE STICK AROUND INTO MONDAY AS WE GET THE NEW WORKWEEK STARTED AS THIS NEXT FRONTAL SYSTEM PASSES BY. TONIGHT 44 DEGREES, CLOUDY, MILD. TOMORROW CLOUDY SKIES EARLY ON, SOME AFTERNOON SUNSHINE TRYING TO POKE BETWEEN THE CLOUDS, UPPER 60s, A CALM AND DRY DAY, NOT AS BRIGHT AS WE WOULD HAVE LIKED. HOWEVER, WE WILL SEE A LITTLE SUNSHINE THAT WILL TRY TO SNEAK OVER INTO EARLY SUNDAY BEFORE THE CLOUDS COME BACK AND WE SEE SOME AFTERNOON SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS, LATE AFTERNOON SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS. I THINK MOST OF SUNDAY WILL BE DRY. MONDAY 75, SOME SHOWERS AROUND MAINLY EARLY, THEN START TO DRY OUT LEADING US TO A BEAUTIFUL TUESDAY, 76 DEGREES THERE, PARTLY CLOUDY SKIES, TEMPERATURES FALLING BACK A LITTLE BIT ON WEDNESDAY. THEN WE SEE A STORMY SETUP THURSDAY. THAT WILL LEAD TO SOME BELOW AVERAGE TEMPERATURES BY THIS TIME NEXT WEEK. YOU CAN SORT THIS FORECAST OUT.

I KNOW THERE'S A LOT GOING ON THERE WITH THE KDKA WEATHER APP. IF YOU'RE HEADING OUT ON THE TOWN TONIGHT, YOU CAN LOOK AT INTERACTIVE RADAR AND SEE WHERE THE SHOWERS ARE. YOU GET HOUR BY HOUR FORECASTS, DAILY FORECASTS. .
